Newstead Brass ready to light up Christmas

The sound of a brass band is a traditional part of Christmas for many and Newstead Brass will be ‘playing’ their part over the next month with 4 festive concerts as well as providing the opportunity to hear favourite carols across city and county.
Gedling Civic Carol Concert
On Saturday 9th December Newstead brass will join with Bestwood Male Voice Choir and the Netherfield Bank Choir for the Gedling Council Civic Christmas and Carol Concert. This takes place at St Paul’s Church, Daybrook starting at 7.00 pm. Admission is FREE with a collection for Mayor Viv McCrossen‘s charity of the year, the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Christmas at the Proms
The following weekend starts with Christmas at the Proms on Friday 15th December at 7.30pm in Woodborough Village Hall. Tickets for this event cost £10 with proceeds going to charities supported by the Mapperley and Arnold Rotary Club,
Brass and Voice Charity Concert
Saturday 16th December sees the return to the band and choir combination as Newstead brass appear as guests of the Radcliffe on Trent Male Voice for their annual Christmas Charity Concerts. There are matinee and evening performances at 2.30 pm and 7.00 pm respectively. Tickets cost from £6 to £10.
Interspersed with these concerts members of the band will be bringing festive cheer to civic tree lighting events and shopping centres in the region. These commence with the lighting of the Ripley Town Tree this Friday, December 1st.
