‘Sounds Like Christmas’
Our annual Christmas Concert takes place at St Mary Magdalene’s Parish Church in Hucknall at 7.30 pm on Monday December 22nd when Newstead Brass will be joined by players from the training group. Admission to that concert will be £5, with a special family rate of £10 for two adults and up to three children.
Swing into New Year with Newstead Brass!
Newstead Brass will end the year with a ‘Newstead Plays Big Band’ concert on Sunday, December 28th at Newstead Miners Welfare & Community Centre, starting at 8.00 pm,. Musical director Duncan Beckley will lead the band through a selection of music made famous by the likes of Ted Heath, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Glen Miller, assisted (or maybe otherwise) by bandmaster Lynden Cooper. There will also be a ‘desert island discs’ tribute to local composer Eric Coates. This great value night away from the turkey leftovers and television costs just £2 payable at the door.
